Lakewood Ranch is one of the largest master-planned developments in Florida, and the landscape standards are set at community level. That means a defined plant palette, defined maintenance expectations, and a review process. We work to the standard rather than around it.
Most of the ground here was agricultural, and it was graded for stormwater retention as part of the development. Ponds, swales and drainage easements are everywhere, and they are the areas that get neglected because they are not the areas anyone looks at. A silted swale is invisible until the day it floods a driveway.
Community entrances carry the most visible work: monument signs, seasonal color and long median plantings in full sun. We plant those with material that holds up through a Florida August, not just through the handover photograph.
